A WOMAN OF COLOR IS IN CHARGE AT THE PLANTATION. REAL CHANGE OR JUST A BLACK FACE IN A WHITE SPACE??

The Department of Children and Families has long been a bulwark and watering hold for white female leadership. However recently a woman of color Vannessa Dorantes,  is the newly appointed commissioner for DCF. Her salary is $172,000 dollars a year. Will the new commissioner bring about meaningful change in the way the agency that has been seen as racist among residents of color in Greater Hartford? Some people are claiming the new commissioner is just a black face inserted into a white space [ usually reserved for white females]. Sources within DCF told this blog writer.."we had an insurmountable amount of changes at DCF, but unfortunately only a few that promoted men or black males. Now this is contradiction in itself. The new commissioner promoted many black women. If you look deep enough you will find a sisterhood sorority club.. that is a woman's organization. This ol' girl's club continues to deny promotion of Black and Latino men."
The above quotes come from several employees currently dissatisfied with the same inner workings of DCF. Nothing seems to have changed within the DCF Plantation ..except that now there is a black face occupying a white space.
