PUBLIC HEARING ABOUT DCF

The common people approached two State Representatives at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford and asked for a public hearing about racism within Department of Children & Families. These members of the hoi polloi (common people) were concerned about how policy & procedure is being used as a cudgel against employees of color that management deems a threat. State Representatives Matthew Ritter & Douglas McCroy set up a public hearing for July 2,2012 at the LOB from 4pm-7pm in order to give people a chance to voice their concerns. People spoke about bias, discrimination, and racism not only within DCF but at Connecticut Juvenile Training School in Middletown, CT. In spite of attempts by DCF-CJTS management to squash the voices of those seeking justice a beacon of hope shone through at the public hearings. The light within the LOB cannot be compared to that heavenly light shining down on baby Jesus in a manger, but this hearing certainly is a signiicant event for the oppressed lanquishing on the DCF Plantation.

VOICES FROM THE PLANTATION

I have talked with employees of color that work for the Department of Children & Families in the Connecticut. They have conveyed to me how DCF and Connecticut Juvenile Training School uses policy and procedure to punish employees of color. Until now their voices have been buried from the public domain due to fear, transfers, loss of employment and betrayals from peers. However, the oppressed shall not continue to suffer once the light of logic and reason shines upon evil people that are determined in the dark recesses of racism. As Goethe said "truth comes to us first in hideous mien." Ergo, I am speaking the truth for those people that cannot due so.
